THE PROJECT

A NEW CHAPEL

"Fully fund and construct a chapel building on the grounds of the ADC North Central Unit near Calico Rock, Arkansas."

WHY BUILD IT

PROGRAMS HELD IN THE CURRENT CHAPEL ARE A TIGHT FIT

The North Central Unit was opened in 1994 with an anticipated inmate population of 450. Thankfully enough, there was provision for a chapel. The chapel, having a size capacity of approximately 75, was small even then. The prison has since been expanded and how holds 850 people, thus dwarfing the ability of the chapel to meet the space requirements of the faith-based programs and services.

TOO SMALL

EXPANSION

NECESSARY

EXPANSION INTO VISITATION AREA IS NECESSARY TO ACCOMMODATE

The provision of God’s Word is never optional. Services are held Thursday night, Sunday morning and Sunday evening every week of the year. At times, throughout the past 5 years we have moved every single one of these worship services out to the visitation area. The Gospel of Christ is preached there unfailingly but to say the cavernous echoes experienced in that room are conducive to reception of the Word would be misleading.
